Diesel Engine Services
The emissions challenges facing the heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturers and those with fleets using heavy-duty diesel engines are enormous and seem to be multiplying rapidly. The pressures to reduce diesel emissions NOx, CO and PM (particulate matter) have intensified over the last few years. Switching to lower sulfur fuels, adding retrofit devices such as oxidation catalysts and particulate traps each present obstacles to overcome and performance that needs to be verified; yet the solutions to these obstacles do not have to be insurmountable and proving their performance can be easily accomplished. In fact, for some fleet owners, it can all be turned into a source of additional revenue.

CleanAir offers diesel engine testing services in both a laboratory and “in-use” environments. We focus on determining the best testing program for your particular need. If an engine or chassis dynamometer is required, our unique partnership relations with several world class testing facilities can be just the answer. With exclusive access to these facilities we can accommodate certification testing required for 40 CFR parts 86, 89, and 94 and ISO 8178. We can also complement your laboratory with instruments needed on a short-term basis through our emissions instrument rental service.

Perhaps your diesel engine testing program could be accomplished with “in-use” emissions monitoring. CleanAir can provide testing services while the vehicle is performing normal duty without being taken out of service. We have the ability to test both on-road and non road equipment with instrumentation such as the Sensor’s Semtech-D and PM-300. In-use testing is also an ideal way to perform proof of concept experiments. Items such as Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), and in-line fuel catalysts are being utilized in many applications. Let us perform the testing to validate the function or removal efficiency of the retrofit devices you have in mind.

Economics are always going to determine whether a particular project is going to be successful or not. If CleanAir’s services cannot deliver value to the customer 10X the cost of those services we both need to investigate ways to make that happen.
