Sound Emissions Testing
CleanAir
performs sound emissions tests for cooling towers to determine near field
sound pressure levels or sound power levels at specified locations. Tests
are typically performed to ensure that permitted limitations or contractual
noise limits are not exceeded. These limits can be problematic
as new facilities are being installed on ever decreasing plot sizes with
equipment installation close to property lines.

CleanAir personnel recently participated in the revision of the CTI
Code ATC-128 and presented a paper at the 2007 CTI winter meeting on
the measurement of sound from cooling towers.
