Determination of Particulate and Gaseous Arsenic Emissions– USEPA Method 108

USEPA Method 108 is used for the determination of inorganic Arsenic (As) emissions from stationary sources.

Particulate and gaseous As emissions are withdrawn isokinetically from the source and are collected on a glass mat filter and in water.  The collected arsenic is then analyzed by means of atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS).

Analysis for As by flame AAS is sensitive to the chemical composition and to the physical properties (e.g., viscosity, pH) of the sample.  The analytical procedure includes a check for matrix effects.
