Total
Fluoride Emissions from Stationary Sources (Specific Ion Electrode
Method) – USEPA Method 13B
USEPA Method 13B is used for the determination of fluoride (F-) emissions
from sources as specified in the regulations. The method involves
isokinetically withdrawing gaseous and particulate F- from the source
and collecting it in water and on a filter. The total F- is
then determined by the specific ion electrode method after acid distillation.
Alternatively, Clean Air Engineering can analyze the samples using
ion chromatography, which provides better detection limits and is
less prone to interfering compounds.
The method does not measure fluorocarbons, such as Freons. |
