Greenhouse Gas Management

It is generally accepted that greenhouse gas emissions will be regulated in the U.S. in the near future. It is only a question of when, not if, such regulations will be enacted. The framework of regional trading and voluntary registry programs to support these regulations is developing. Progressive companies are addressing the emerging issues of climate change and the impact to their business by determining their carbon footprint. Many others are still uncertain regarding the actions they should take to mitigate the risk.

CleanAir is providing technical support and guidance to help companies manage their risk in developing climate change strategies by:

    • Preparing submissions to voluntary registry programs such as DOE 1605(b) and The Climate Registry
    • Developing baseline GHG emissions inventories following established protocols such as the WRI/WBCSD and ISO 14064
    • Evaluate combustion equipment energy efficiencies of CHP units
    • Emissions reduction strategies and renewable fuel options
    • Developing site specific emissions factors
    • Determining biogenic CO2 emissions from combustion of MSW or biomass
