CLEAN AIR ANNOUNCES RENEWAL O F LOUISIANA ACCREDITATION
CHICAGO, July 1, 2002 - Clean Air Engineering is pleased to announce renewal of its accreditation status with the Louisiana Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (LELAP).  This program is administered by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and is recognized by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAC).  Currently, the Louisiana program is considered the benchmark for similar state accreditation programs.
 
The accreditation process includes an evaluation of the company's technical policies and procedures, with particular emphasis placed on laboratory procedure manuals, document control and firmly established quality management and corrective action procedures. 
 
The LELAP requires proof of proficiency in the techniques and understanding of emission testing methods and results.  Clean Air has participated in this program since June, 2000, when the LDEQ granted the company interim accreditation status.  LDEQ personnel performed an on-site evaluation of Clean Air’s operations in November, 2001 and subsequently awarded Clean Air with full accreditation status.  In order to maintain this status, Clean Air must participate in annual proficiency testing and maintain its quality systems in accordance with the LELAP standards.  The status is re-evaluated every June.
